Applying to Electricity

Applying for electricity in Turkey can be a simple and straightforward process with the right guidance. As a foreigner, you will need to provide some basic documents to apply for electricity in your name. 

A valid identification document, such as a passport or residence permit. The title deed (tapu) of the property or a rental contract. The tax number of the property owner or renter. An application form, which can be obtained from the local electricity distribution company or downloaded from their website. A document showing the subscribed power capacity of the property (This is usually provided by the electrician who installed the electrical system). A receipt showing that the connection fee has been paid. A document showing that DASK (mandatory earthquake insurance) has been obtained for the property. (Note: Without DASK, electricity cannot be connected.) If the property is a new construction, a copy of the occupancy permit (iskan belgesi) is required. It’s important to note that the specific documents required may vary depending on the location and individual circumstances. It’s always a good idea to check with the local electricity distribution company for any additional requirements.
